On a balmy Tuesday night the Toronto Maple Leafs faced off in a frustrating match against their division rivals the Pittsburg Penguins. I can remember watching some aggravating games but this has to be one of the worst. Not only did the Buds lose 5 - 4 in a shootout (winning 4-1 with 12 minutes left) they were absolutely robbed of a goal by the referees in the first period which would have sealed the deal for 2 points.
As you can seen in the video above, Tyler Bozak comes down the left wing a gets a puck past Pittsburg's goalie Marc-andre Fleury. This legitimate and fair goal was disallowed for ABSOLUTELY NO REASON. The issue here is that the call for goaltending interference is a non reviewable play and it is at the sole discretion of the officials on the ice. at no point did a maple leafs player (#19 Joffrey Lupul) touch the goalie, and its a damn shame. instead of being within 3 points of the Penguins, they are now 6 pts back, thanks stripes.
